Performance outcome and injury risk typically influence by many factors. Systematically monitoring individual physical performance from time to time provide avenue to identify any weaknesses and assist prevention of injury. What needs to be monitored?
The goal(s) of the strength & conditioning program intended for the involved individual will determined what to be monitored. Determination of variables of interest will be based on discussions with the coaches / trainers, athletes/clients involved and previous research findings.
When does it need to be monitored?
It will depends of the variables of interest selected. Some may need daily monitoring, some may need weekly or some may just need monthly / periodically monitored in pre, during and post program.
How it will be done?
Using tests and assessments that directly or indirectly measure variables of interest selected. Output of the tests and assessments will be analyzed and interpreted scientifically. Interpretations will be simplified for the use by other parties (coaches, managers, athletes/clients etc).
