What
About
SIG Conditioning's STEM Gym is an initiatives focusing on networking and consultation works, that assist STEM educators in implementing STEM teaching using gym based physical conditioning practice. This STEM Gym initiatives will be most beneficial for kinesthetic learners.
Why
Key-Terminology
Kinesthetic learners.
(Learning by doing)
Kinesthetic learners are individuals who learn best through physical activities, movement, and hands-on experiences. They prefer engaging with material by doing, touching, or manipulating objects rather than through visual or auditory methods alone. These learners often excel in tasks involving physical coordination, experimentation, or interactive processes and may struggle with traditional lecture-based or passive learning environments.
Key Characteristics of Kinesthetic Learners:
-
Learn through physical interaction, such as building, moving, or role-playing.
-
Enjoy hands-on activities like experiments, crafts, or sports.
-
May fidget or move when processing information.
-
Retain information better when they can associate it with physical actions or sensations.
-
Often have good motor skills and coordination.
How
STEM GYM
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) can be integrated with fitness by creating educational programs that teach STEM concepts through physical activities and sports, reinforcing learning for kinesthetic learners. This approach uses real-world scenarios in a gym setting to explore simple machines, motion mechanics, and exercise physiology, connecting academic subjects to the practical context of fitness for a more engaging and effective learning experience.
Project will be planned and implemented within roughly a year duration.
Timeline:
October - December 2025: Idea pitching, framework and group development.
